Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly called "upping," improves an item's stats. item upgrading upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.
Players can recycle six items at a time to get a gauge of the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases depending on their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through a variety of methods through the use of upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally there are many items that can be reforged to boost their stats even more.
Upgradeable items can be found in the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the main method to upgrade equipment. These are items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be placed in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools, and provide numerous bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing extra crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will display the expected statistics after the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The number of upgrade components needed for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increases. However you can cut down on the cost by purchasing upgrades from a merchant, or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be improved by a prefix such as a rune, or an insignia. Some can be improved by adding a suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewers and trigger curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, making them more effective in communicating messages across language barriers. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.
Each glyph has a set of values it can enhance a stat according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the highest value that a glyph could enhance a stat by, not the amount that it actually increases it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you are creating it for.
Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can take out any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed in which it is installed, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, so this should not be considered as a loss.
A glyph added to an item could cause it to become unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you dismantle the item. You can also place an inscription on your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is helpful for players who take lots of damage from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes of weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mysterious boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for item upgrades, but they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than those with lower levels.
In addition to reroll tokens, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. A reroll will roll the % chance of a weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolling is a fantastic option to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is reduced by the number rerolls it took to get it to the final ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective for Diadems and ring items that don't have competing ilvl-raising options.
The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being expensive, and it would be more equitable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items which would allow players to modify their builds without spending too much time and effort. The developers have no plans to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first method of leveling up an item upgrade is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the upgrade value for the stat. The second option is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the damage or healing of the stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. After this the new item will keep its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
It is crucial to remember that upgrades are random. In most cases the best roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also opportunities for more or unique rolls. Additionally, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and when you upgrade a rare or unique item to an exceptional item type, it could achieve an increased iLevel.
Upgrades can be expensive, especially if you are upgrading your equipment from the standard track to the legendary. item upgrader will depend on the item's base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels it offers. Some upgrade tracks also require crests in order to get to the next level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will reach the maximum level of its upgrade track, and will unlock an additional bonus effect. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level, though. In general the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.
The iLevel can also change depending on the item's upgrade path and base level. For example the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to an exceptional item is likely to be upgraded to the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
